AM... [E] 5 mile run (35:12, 7:02 pace).  Didn't really feel all that great.  I know I'm not in good shape, but the heat yesterday really took a lot out of me.  My hamstring still feels fine though, and if I can get through the week without pain I'll try to jump up in distance a bit this weekend.

You haven't lost that much if you can still go hang 7:00 pace for 5 miles. Hopefully you can ease back in nicely , and you should gain your fitness back fairly quick. Welcome back and good luck!

Thanks James. It's good to be back. Once I can start back into workouts I'm going to have to work hard so we can maybe pair up at St. George and try to hit 2:35-:36ish.

On my first marathon, I took 6 weeks off in June/July due to a stress fracture and still broke 2:50 at TOU in mid-Sept. Given your shorter time off, plus still having 11 weeks till the marathon, you should be able to meet your goal.
